Lanzarote App

Today's blog post is going to be a bit different. I'm going to be talking about more of a digital experience. Here is the story of how a few local volunteers wanted to help out the island of Lanzarote:.

Our story

The Lanzarote App was created during the nationwide quarantine of 2020, I think we all know what we are talking about and remember it perfectly. Needless to say, we had a vision, we knew things were going to be very complicated for everyone, especially for local business owners because tourism had stopped completely.

It all had changed so rapidly...

It was then we started to work on the project, a free app designed to promote the island and everything in it, something that would be free and accessible to everyone, as our motto goes "free now, free forever."

We wanted to create a single, easy-to-use, informative app, that contained everything you could do, see, feel touch, and experience on the island. We wanted to help out those local businesses, especially those with little to no online presence, to make sure they had a voice. So they could be heard and seen by potential customers, free of charge.

We slowly started a marketing campaign on the island, promoting the app for users and collaborators alike. Our mission was to have as many local businesses and information on the app as possible, so when the tourism sector would recover, everyone had access to relevant, updated, and easy-to-understand information.

This is me by the way :)

As the years have gone by we have constantly been updating the app, starting off first as a downloadable app on Google Play Store and the App Store (although we never managed to be on the App Store due to financial issues). We wholeheartedly tried to help everyone as much as possible, providing a free-of-charge service for users trying to find out information about the island, and free marketing and traffic directly to local businesses.

We are excited to announce that we are updating the app again, it will be the fourth major update to the app which I have been calling #lanzaroteapp4.0.

We have a lot of new things planned for the Lanzarote App! We will keep on helping others, free of charge because we believe there is still a long way to go!

If you are interested in finding out more about the Lanzarote App (as I've said many times, it is 100% free to use), here is the link to the website:

The Lanzarote App is the island in your pocket. Free now, free forever. By the people, for the people.

So as always, go have fun and explore!
