Los Charcones, Beautiful Natural Pools.

“Los Charcones”, one of Lanzarote’s greatest treasures, are natural pools located on the south side of Lanzarote near Playa Blanca (Yaiza).

Nature in its ultimate form of perfection, the unspoiled natural pools of Los Charcones are a 10-minute drive from Playa Blanca’s Montaña Roja mountain. A wide variety of pools with various sizes, depths, and shapes brighten the eye after seeing how humans can achieve the exact opposite by passing through the nearby, unfinished, and abandoned hotel in the area.

Despite the drastic contrast, or precisely because of it, Los Charcones has everything to help you rest and enjoy reading a book, snorkeling, and having a swim, sunbathing with pleasant company, or the most private and comforting form of solitude. From spa-like pools to areas for diving, almost two kilometers from the Pechiguera lighthouse along the coast, offer a continuous trickle of extremely breathtaking natural pools.

To reach the area you must use a dirt road, and the directions to the pools can be used by Googling “Hotel abandonado” near Playa Blanca or using the Lanzarote App (www.lanzaroteapp.es), and searching for “natural pools”.

The fresh air of the open sea, the spectacular sounds of crashing waves and stunning wildlife. A completely natural design that enchants anyone who visits the area.

I highly recommend walking around the entire coast and exploring the area yourself.

Please keep in mind the tide is usually quite dangerous and you should always have a level of caution while enjoying the area.

Remember to take plenty of water, sunscreen, food, a change of clothes, your cellphone, and comfortable footwear.

Also, take your trash home with you. Thank you.

Have fun and explore!
